Circle Of Love - Poem by Janae Woodfield

Kicking, screaming, crying,
A brand new face emerges to love and care for,
A connection between mother and child, a love to last forever,
Kindergarten and Crayola crayon drawings,
Finger-painting, recess, nap-time,
Jr. High,
Lockers, finals, dances,
Starting your life begins with who you want to be,
Transitional summers between being a girl and becoming a young woman,
Spending time with boys at the pool,
Flirting, dating, working,
High School,
Heartaches, driver’s license, ACTs,
Making it through all of the changes and becoming you,
Preparing yourself for college, your career, and the rest of your life,
Graduation and summer parties breaking your curfew,
Good-byes, dorms, freedom,
Bills, mortgage, car payments,
Trying to keep up with classes and still be a teenager,
Working, going to school, paying bills and balancing a social life,
Finding the one you love and your happily ever after,
Marriage, honeymoon, first house,
Sonograms, pacifiers, bottles,
A new life to love and a new part of you,
A family brought together through the happiness of the tiny baby,
School supplies, baby-sitters, buss rides,
Kindergarten again…
