Delia's Loss Poem by Practicing Poetess

Delia's Loss

Rating: 5.0

Delia dropped her contact lens
Down the sink drain
Her boyfriend took the drain apart
Trying to save it again

But it was much too late
For, you see
The lens had made its way
To the sea

And far away, was a proud fishy
Sporting his own monocle, gallantly!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Monocle: (noun)- -An eyeglass for one eye

I wish I was a cartoonist.
I'd draw my own illustration for this- - I can just picture a little
Disney-character fish, looking like something out of Finding Nemo, haughtily swimming along whilst wearing a human's contact lens!
But, I'm content to be a poet!

It was to much late. The work should be done earlier. Delia's contact lens is drained apart. An amazing poem is very brilliantly penned.10
