Dogs At Night Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

Dogs At Night

Rating: 5.0

There's something about sleeping
With a dog
They don't like giving you any room
By lying horizontally on the bed
Giving you no space
As you uncomfortably hold on
To the edge of the bed
They sleep soundly until midnight
Until their need to pee erupts
Then, they howl at the moon
Greeting every other dog who
Has the need also
As you try to get them to come inside
On a cold, January morning in the wee hours
You're half-sleep
And yr bare feet are cold
But, in the end, you'll do anything for them

Great tribute to (wo) man's best friend. LeeAnn, from now on, whenever I listen to Three Dog Night, I'll think of this poem.
