Don'T Garland Me Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Don'T Garland Me

Rating: 4.8

Don’t garland me but abuse
Hate, say no and refuse
if you think I did any harm
or was cold and lukewarm

Do you think that I really deserve?
Cold shudder and disrespect in reserve
Will it be fruitful and purpose to serve?
I don’t think it will hold your nerve

what would I choose as middle way?
Complete silence and nothing more to say?
Mere submission with simple gratitude offer
Open friendship call though thoughts simply differ

we must always agree to disagree
Enjoy the bloom and feel so free
How fruits hang on gigantic trees?
Shade to all and refuge to honey bees

I might not have fared so well
It is also possible that I failed to tell
Believe me it was merely a simple gesture
To last long in race for bright future

It was not to deceive but to bond the relation
Simple offering of joy to feel for elevation
You may enjoy its warmth after revelation
Anger may vanish soon as it has no relation

I may not be rewarded for my good gesture
It may cast gloom or shadow on my future
what have I to do to restore the honor?
Not to beg for any thing but act as donor

You will have to act with maturity
Nothing will count with age or seniority
It has to be shown with full wisdom
Out gesture should be for all time and not random

Don’t expect too much or anything in return?
It may be tomorrow for their turn
Hate doesn’t help permanent
One need not offer any comment

I don’t wish that you should go out of way
Your voice remain muffled and nothing to say
There is every reason for you to come forward
Find out the real truth and always look toward

I shall strive very hard to come to the aid
I believe in action and not simply words said
I may be offending them by doing so
It is hard fact but I should lie low

I shall remain calm and not loose the patience
I may preserve it and not write it in sentence
Eyes may not remain calm but speak as mark of loyalty
where is the need to plead and feel guilty?

Tolerance is greatest key to success
Open to all and grants free access
not to bear ill will but feel so proud
Humanity may survive with message so loud

Dear Hashmukhbhai. Thanks for your invite to read and comment on an introspective poem of modern day degradation of values.I liked the poem and rated high. to me this is the best line of the poem: 'tolerence is greatest key to success open to all and grant free access' Rajkumar
