Don't be afraid of Satyr, a wild and crazy thing,
Just join in the revelry, let your heart take wing,
For Satyr is a joyous creature, full of life and glee,
And if you have him as your friend, you'll be as happy as can be!
Oh Satyr, how different you are and what a sight to see,
For Romans you are half-man, half-goat, as jolly as can be.
You possess pointed ears and a mischievous grin,
well, take us on adventure with your devilish kin.
In Greek art you represent as a man with a horse's ears and tail
how can I not fantasy you with my instincts of male
you hooves go clop-clop, in a merry tune
and dance around the fire under the shining moon
Lets drink and feast together, with a ravenous appetite
and tell bawdy stories, that will keep us awake, all night
Perhaps biotechnology was prevalent at that age as I guess from the bodily combinations.
I enjoyed this humorous poem just came into existence DUE to TYPO, Fabulous.
I give FOUR stars, ONE of which is, as agreed upon before you wrote the poem, for mentioning my name, my REAL first name...in 'The Real World'. : )) bri
AND....I wonder if there is a FEMALE creature with some characteristics (NOT so much 'physical' ones, but...) of a satyr. NO, don't tell me.
Re: Your mention in your Poet's Notes that 'Brian, in his characteristic manner, presumed was an intended reference to Satys instead of Stars'. Ha! I KNEW you'd been drinking (booze) . I presumed no such thing, though I DID point out your typo. : )
TYPO is the reason for this poem. I liked it. How often we ignore and move on but in this case Sheeya took it humorously.
BUT don't ignore thia 'satyr feature' which I may have told you about. 'a permanent, exaggerated erection.' THAT could be DISTRACTING! ! bri : )
This poem has not been translated into any other language yet.
I would like to translate this poem
Interesting poem, there is a touch of humour in your poem. I liked it.
