Echo To 'dearest Friend' … [echo Poem To Lora Colon's 'dearest Friend'; Intimacy; Disruption; Relationship; Short Enough]

Rating: 5.0

Our love was quite different;
it almost ….did not exist.
But I still said 'I love you, Dear',
‘cause it's what she did insist …
upon. Otherwise ……….

we almost never ever made demands,
either one of us to the other.
It's not that we didn't feel some inside;
it's because it did no good, we did discover.

When storms threatened our relationship,
we always battened down the hatches.
We locked the window shutters, doors and such,
but the storms simply ripped apart ….all the latches!

I once tried to ease the burdens which lay ….
upon her weak mind and lonely heart.
She knew not my thoughts, though she thought she did.
It was always 'difficult' with her from the very start …
of our friendship.

She never gave me encouragement ….
to face yet another day.
I guess I shouldn't have expected it;
I treated her the same way.

Sometimes we're still physically close.
Need I spell it out for you?
Emotionally we are both handicapped,
but sexually we 'click'. It is so very true.

Now, though we never call each other 'friend',
some nights we both thank God. Do I offend …
anyone? ?

Too bad!

I just had a sandwich, ham and egg on rye And thought I'd check on some poems by my pal Bri Now, although I’m glad he’s “my good friend” I will not pretend I’m not delighted He’s not “my dearest friend! ” Cause I know what messy stuff that Would portend!

To offend is in it's own special way a confirmation of deep feelings one once had to reoffend and make it up in love.. iip
