Emma… Poem by Kesav Venkat Easwaran

Emma…

(He)
Night is dark my heart is back
To those wonderful days!
What can i do without you?
Tormenting these moon rays!
Tormenting these moon rays!

(Chorus)
Walking sad and lone
Tracking stars and moon
He moves through days bygone…
He moves through nights bygone…
Emma……Emma…Emma!

(She)
Beat it down Oh! Beat it down
O Peter beat it down!
What if i can’t reach out you?
My heart is still with you!
My heart is still with you!

(Chorus)
Walking sad and lone
Tracking stars and moon
She moves through days bygone…
She moves through nights bygone…
Emma…… Emma… Emma!

A magical cantata..the melody of the crescendo of love and decrescendo of sadness..well orchestrated..you are a master performer, indeed!

A very sensitive and touchy theme - many such separated hearts are there. Strange is life! ! Those who crave for togatherness have to bear separation and there are such people as well, who dwell together, but still are miles apart. Far or near, that there is love is something really nice, beautiful and gratifying. Liked your idea of giving a musical touch to the poem. Regards, Vanita.

Hi Kesav, dare I say it: it sounds almost like a Greek tragedy in structure or maybe an epic opera. But it needs more espansion. It needs a sequel and a prequel. We need to find out more about Peter and Emma: who they are, what they have done, why are they apart...enea

A poignant write. A vivid depiction of loneliness of two people in love. A very passionate song of love. Beautifully crafted.

Thank you for your kind revue of my lullaby. Your poem Emma certainly does reflect all the suffering that is caused by wars that are created by a handful of greedy capitalists or fanatic ''wantabes'' I sincerely hope that one day soon the silent majority will stand up and tell these idiots that its time to shut up, be quiet and start acting like human beings. The sun shines for every one on this earth and no one should have the right to deprive others of their happiness no matter how trivial in their eyes this happiness can be.
