Falling
Love flutters like a bird taking flight,
Now your words sharpen the night,
With your commanding way,
We've lost the joy out of the day,
My mind is perplexed,
Like a song without a good tune,
Or a starless night,
With just the gleam of the solitary moon,
Reflecting my fears that I'm not in a love cocoon,
But a trap with no movement
For my heart and soul to grow,
Like an important letter never sent,
Can our love sink into an unbreakable bond,
Or have you thrown away what I stood for,
The meaning of a partnership is respect,
But I seem to be just the chief suspect,
You drill into me to do it your way,
The joy is gone running away from the day,
The trap has been set,
I'm caught between living and you,
The wise moon shines it's light,
As I try to regain my courage,
To fight for what is right,
Love is still a mystery,
Can I solve the puzzle that is you,
As all around me our love is falling
Like autumn leaves spread on the green grass.
Falling into an empty space,
Without your once smiling face.

In a love relationship, what is important is mutual trust and respect! If one holds the rein always with him and rules over the other with an iron hand, the initial warmth can easily slip away to wrath! When two individuals of different tastes and temperaments are made to fuse together, there should be compromises....(sometimes painful) and also the willingness to accept and honour the other with all differences. The fissures and cracks that can possibly arise in a long standing partnership are so poignantly brought out! Indeed a great write Hazel!
