Minor girls like little flower buds,
Made to labour with heavy burden,
On their slender shoulders and back,
On a climb with loads of sticks and bundles!
Why deny the little girls of childhood pleasures?
Why spoil their fun with toys and dolls?
Why rob them of their playful indulgence?
Why spoil their life of youthful dreams and charms?
Sent off from their homes by the parents,
Secure a groom and forcefully married off!
Dowry system still thriving in rural villages,
Daughters chased off in fear of poverty and distress!
Save the tender girls from work overload,
Save the innocent childhood from rigorous boredom,
Save the glowing face with smiles and laughter,
Save the energy and power of girls for a bright future!
Save the tender girls from work overload, Save the innocent childhood from rigorous boredom, Save the glowing face with smiles and laughter, Save the energy and power of girls for a bright future! ........ touching expression and true message. We must save tender girls from overload works and we should wish her bright future. Beautiful poem.
Thumbs up for selecting the topic and the self-explanatory picture. The poem with all its emphasis on a child's or more specifically the girl child's right to education, dignity. love and opportunities of a better future at par with a male child. Social evils which promote such an outlook needs to be eradicated with a firm resolve. Thanks, Geeta Ma'am.
