Flower 15 - The Magnificent Marigold Poem by Geeta Radhakrishna Menon

Flower 15 - The Magnificent Marigold

Rating: 4.5

Marigold- the orange, yellow flowers,
Magnificent bloom emitting golden waves,
That stand together in myriad clusters,
Mesmerising bloom with burgeon lustre.

Marigold dances with joy in delight,
Merrily tossing its head in jollity,
They make their presence felt with felicity,
Multiplying and spreading with fertility.

Marigold shines like a star with brilliance,
Matching every blossom with radiance,
Together they are woven into flower garlands,
Meditating plant of prayerful ponderance.

I wish the flower shops or. nurseries selling marigold would pin the poem on their wall. Hope they sell too. Thanks Yiyan. Never thought about it when i wrote the poem though.

Lovely poem with a lovelier picture! Though it is not so popular as rose or lotus, I love this simple beauty and you have described it in the most realistic and beautiful way!

Though Marigold is a common flower, it is most widely used in India by the people. In a garden they look lovely. Thanks Valsa

I recollect a Pakistani song, mere joode meN gende ka phool maiN tujhe kaisi dikhooN, (In my hairs is a Marigold flower, tell me how I am looking) . A Marigold is beautiful but if it's in the hairs of a woman wearing a saree, its beauty is amazingly increased. A lovely poem.
