Footnote 3 Poem by Ahmad Shiddiqi

Footnote 3

Rating: 5.0

crescent moon hangs in nightmares
swords were charmed to defy
empty hearts turn to dust
vanished in disguise

you strikes the lyre
fluttering in desire
distant villages
are very green

Je prendrai les rayons du lune
Je dirai les mots des poemes
Je jouerai les musiques du paradis
Et du respect pour chaque matin

it is bound to be
a freedom feeling
all frontiers push back
you steadfast as thou heart

awake for a while in a slippery road
of mist upon the reddish valley
mixed emotion to care
a ponder of array

(dedicated to a poet friend at poemhunter, Obinna Eruchie)
