Forgiveness - Poem by Gordon Jerome

Here we are so near apart
With but a common broken heart
Why must we suffer each one alone
As we stare in silence upon the phone
To pick it up would simply end the pain
And heartache from us both would drain
But alas we neither shall admit defeat
So we stand our ground so bitter sweet
And like mere fools our pride we guard
As we find forgiveness all too hard.
'closing thought'
These three simple words you can never over use
There will always be room for more I love you's
