Grand Amours Poem by james watkin

Grand Amours

Grand amours from grand tours.
Love's prime stage from pilgramage.
We shall not uncouple an
Historical linkage.

Coy in yielding to rushing
Emotions' drowning spell;
Til steered of gondolier
By canal lights a-swell.

Overdoing it, recoiling
In leaping to propose;
Til into coachman's trap stepped;
Updrives shades of chateaus.
