Election scene has changed a lot;
It is not what our culture has taught;
Abusive and abrasive,
And also a bit evasive,
That is the crux, rest is dot dot dot.
Entire Delhi Darbar has gone to Gujarat;
To renew the lease of dawn to Gujarat;
Opposition too is rallying,
With high pitched yelling,
Social media is like a pawn to Gujarat.
An objective look at the Gujarat elections. At least there is an opposition party to the governing one-democracy. Because passions are aroused, yelling can happen. At least in social media, people can express their political opinions. Freedom of speech, I think. A great political poem.
Thanks for the visit. I hope you have enjoyed reading this poem which provides a glimpse into politics that we see around us these days.
The saddest truth in our country (and perhaps worldwide) is how the language of political discourse have degraded to the point of uncivilised, derogatory, terrible shouting. People shout at each other, talking about things that are inconsequential, while the REAL issues are left behind. A very apt poem Mr Manga. Thanks for sharing.
How very true, my country will be going to the polls soon, and we have a kleptocrat doing every dirty trick in the book to stay in power. Democracy had became just a word. Thank you my friend.
Politics has become a full time job for thousands of people today. Lesser a person is educated, more are his chances of joining politics. Once into the power block, he does everything to stay there. Thanks for sharing your views, My Dear Friend.
Politics in this sub-continent has become the dirtiest game. We, in Pakistan, are annoyed of Dharna
Thanks for being on this page, Sir. I agree with your views. Recently I read about some obscure named Barelvi group pressurising govt in your country. Liberals have been marginalised in the sub-continent.
Abusive and abrasive! ! Thanks for sharing this poem with us.
So nice of you to have read and posted an appreciative comment. Thanks, Edward.
