Guru 1 -Veda Vyasa
My salutations to the great Guru
Maharshi Veda Vyasa - the dynamic Teacher,
May His name be glorious forever,
May His work be celebrated forever!
Sage Vyasa of profound realisation,
Scintillating work of the compilation of the Vedas,
Stupendous work of the codification of the Brahma Sutras,
Systematisation of the eighteen Puranas!
The magnum opus -Srimad Bhagavatam,
The great epic Mahabharata,
The Bhagavad Geeta,
The celestial song unparalleled!
My salutations to the great Guru

The students of dance, music and other fine arts pay respects to their respective teachers and celebrate the sacred bond of the teacher and the taught. The heritage has been practised in India, from time immemorial, as 'Guru Sishya Parampara'.
Very apt tribute with an excellent meaning of the term to Guru.....informative, interesting and inspiring....this poem invokes in me very great respect again and again for the powerful sage Vyasa...thanks so many times for sharing your great poems repeatedly Geeta

Veda Vyasa is celebrated as the greatest Guru in India. Apart from all the invaluable contributions you have mentioned in the poem, I consider Shrimad Bhagawat Gita as his most important work, though it forms part of the epic, Mahabharata.
