Haiku - Genius

Camille Claudel
a heroine and genius
born before her time

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
A sculptress, a genius but born before her era, she was misused by the great Rodin, he used her for his great works. Her brother Paul Claudel a diplomat and an author sent her to an asylum, since he had no time to care for her living. She was not insane, but because of time and money, he declared her insane and she was put there till the day she died. She lived a very long life. This could only happen when women had no rights at all. She led a very tragic life

How sad to see such a remarkable woman so ill treated. Yet she has triumphed with the legacy of her incredibly beautiful sculptures. A fine tribute!

Thank you so much dear Evelyn, indeed we can see her sculptures now in France. She was ill-treated by her own (younger) brother since he was ashamed of her honest behaviour. and love for Rodin, this Paul Claudel was a famous author and diplomat

He was really ashamed of her after their parents death. He must afford her money for living every day, but that was very expensive at that time, and he declared her insane, then she could be sent to an asylum and that was less expensive than giving her house-hold budget.
