It was during the days
of a bygone era In China
When values were eroding
In the political and social life
People suffered through
Unprincipled rulings of
The ruling clique there when
A warrior of pure reason and
A champion of ancient values
Gave confidence and power
To the common people
He rose from the dust of time
In a lax and decadent system
By virtue of his spiritual aura
Confucius we are talking about
The re-deemer of True values
In public life 2500 years ago
Which holds good to this day
and many many days to come.
