'I'm seeking somewhere to settle down, '
said the young man who was new in town.
'I am a man of substantial wealth,
and I want a place that's good for my health.'
'Then this is the place, ' said Buster Brown.
'There's no place healthier than this town.
When I arrived here, I could not talk,
and I was so weak, I couldn't walk.
I also had hardly any hair,
and had to be carried everywhere.'
The new man stared and stammered, 'Wow!
You certainly seem quite healthy now! '
'Yes, if I had to leave, I'd really mourn,
because this is the place where I was born! '
My question is: Could you send the same poem to another State for submitting in the contest? Truly remarkable, Kim but wonderfully done your pun. My two thumbs up!
Part 2 of reply: Arizona publishes the poems that take first, second, and third place, so they can not be submitted again elsewhere with very few exceptions. There are a few contests that accept previously published poems.
It depends on the contest. Utah does not accept poems that have already won cash prizes, but Arizona does, if the poem has never been published. Utah does not publish their winning poems, so they can be entered in Arizona also.
In Utah State in 2019 won this cute humorous poem the First Place and................in 2022 in the Arizona State Poetry Society annual contest the second Place. Amazingly won, dear Kim.5 Stars!
Thanks, Hank. You won a higher percentage of games than I did at chess club tonight!
Great message delivered with humor. This is what today's young restless folks need to keep in mind!
This poem has not been translated into any other language yet.
I would like to translate this poem
