How Sorry - Poem by Peggy Dotson

How could the same person who makes me feel so happy
also makes me feel so sad
why do you only let me hold you in my arms
late at night
why do you want me to tell you everything will be alright
when you know it won't
why are you holding on to me when you should let me go
i deserve the same love given to me that i give out
otherwise, what was the point of opening up if i have to shut down again
each time i see you i wonder if it will be the last
am i sill a part of your future or am i in the past
has your feelings toward me changed at all
is there a reason i should still be here waiting for you
to decide whether or not you want to be with me
i'm sorry that my love is not good enough for you
i'm sorry that i told you what i want
i'm sorry that i want you to be happy even if that means losing me
i'm sorry you opened up my heart just for me to let you go
