I Would Never - Poem by Michael P. McParland

I would never try to trick you
or lie to you in any way at all.
Deception is not my game or motivation
and the thought of it or be it spoken
in any way is a kick in the stomach
and knife to my heart.

I would never lie of my love
or trick you in some warped way to hurt.
My love is pure and genuine and
I want to share it and my life
for eternity with you.

Topic(s) of this poem: hurting, sad love
