In Yr Image (For Aida Azzopardi) Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

In Yr Image (For Aida Azzopardi)

Rating: 5.0

As the days disappear in the shadows
I watch the sky above to see if you are there
Hoping to see you once more
Though, I am trying to be worthy Of my entry
My heart still aches
I can see yr smile and eyes full with joy everywhere
And the memories keep following my dreams
Wishing they don't fade away
I love you through you're gone
As I still cherish yr embrace that I miss
I take refuge in yr image

LeeAnn, you made me cry with this very touching tribute for your late beloved mother. Each and every line stands out and touches the heart. Loved the closure line. To my favorites.

p2 yet despite the heartache the smile and eyes full of joy, of the lost loved one gone lights the poem with bright warm memories and the hope these images never fade, the tragedy of missed embraced is lessened by taking refuge in beloved memory images

P1 'the days disappear in the shadows' is a beautiful image, for me a beautiful time of day, yet here it haunts with the perpetual shadow of loss spanning so many days,

I wrote the poem 'Perpetual Shadow Loss Spanning So Many Days, inspired by the poem 'In Yr Image (For Aida Azzopardi) ', by the poet LeeAnn Azzopardi and dedicated to LeeAnn Azzopardi.
