Infatuation Poem by Valerie Dohren

Infatuation

Rating: 4.8

Bedazzled by the burning sun
Enchanted by the moon
Enamoured by your loving kiss
Enraptured all too soon

So captivated by your charms
You took my breath away
It seemed that I could never live
Without you through each day

But swiftly as it came to be
Yet quickly it did pass
For now those stormy passions felt
Lie crushed as shattered glass

The flame that leapt within my heart
Is now a dying ember
And as I look into your eyes
That flame I can`t remember

Like it, infatuation can be a funny thing, it can stay a life time or it can last one fleeting moment. A fantastic poem. May I invite you to read my new poem called, I Was Always Told.

This poem is captivating; tugs at my heart as well. Infatuation and true love is like comparing onions to roses

You breathe such effortless lines. The flame that leapt within my heart Is now a dying ember And as I look into your eyes That flame I can`t remember

valerie i love the flow and meaning of this...so true, it is easy to be bedazzled then stop and realise it was nothing more than an enticing pair of shoes, , nice to look at but ruddy uncomfortable
