Insomnia(Can't Sleep) Poem by Practicing Poetess

Insomnia(Can't Sleep)

Rating: 5.0

Soaked in a warm tub,
Played lullabies,
I've tried everything
To bring sleep to these eyes

Tried melatonin tablets
Warm milk in a cup
Hot chamomile tea
Still awake now, and up

Soft socks on my feet
A glass of red wine
But sleep doesn't come
To these tired eyes of mine

I need a set schedule
Some time to unwind
And putting aside
All the things on my mind

What preoccupies me
Will certainly keep
Until tomorrow
Right now, I need sleep!

Thank you, Becca! (It's more fun to write about it, than it is to experience it!) ;)

It's hard to sleep when your mind is awake. Well penned verse.10 Nudershada

Writers despair. This poem with it's dark humor. I love it! I feel this soooo.....

I wonder how many of us are up writing (possibly dark, possibly bizarre) poetry, on nights when we cannot sleep! (Perhaps the Muse keeps us awake, because she wants us to write!)
