Interminable inclination. Poem by Nabakishore Dash

Interminable inclination.

Rating: 5.0

Oblivious of the causes
and conditions
my inclination for you
was spontaneous and innate.
Never did I imagine you
to be my strength and soulmate.

Your unadorned beauty,
Serene presence
in the levee of a burbling river,
away from hustle bustle,
reveal your eternity.
The charming surroundings,
your rustic simplicity and
benediction would never let me
a divorce to split.

My love is crystal clear as the
down streaming water
of autumn and spring.
I want you as much as
a fish loves the sea,
the heart needs beatings,
birds love to sing.

You are the key to my sun rise,
lock before my
slumber and repose.
Your inspiration and guidance
keep me away
from my formidable foes.

Let my infatuation remain sublime and firm
like the adjoining mountain
in the river bed that
bifurcates her stream,
exists idyllic for decades
under your grace,
without even minor depletion
of fauna and flora,
without being unearthed
by innumerable ravaging floods.
