It Is Well - Poem by Chanda Lena Mondoka

Years have passed me by
Others have seized opportunities
All I see is darkness
I am feeling lost and alone
Far from doing good
My beloved ones
Their hope- care and trust
I have taken it all away
Like the prodigal son
I don’t feel worthy
I am not worthy of your forgiveness
I am not worthy of your love
Worse still am not worthy of your mercy
A laughing stalk I am to all
I am chasing after the wind
With hope I would be blown where I could be accepted
Sometimes I hear a small voice within me-
Whispering – I will get through it
I see a reflection – some rays of light
Shining through my darkest days
He comes again boasting- the enemy
Is boasting that I will pursue you
I will overtake you
My hand will destroy
Your breath blows
His plans covered
You are majestic in Holiness
Awesome in glory
Working wonders
The light has shone through
In your unfailing love you lead
You redeem
In your strength you guide them-
The light shines through-
To your Holy dwelling
He will hear and tremble
His laughter will be covered
In Mighty waters
It will flow like a river flow

It is well- It is well
Tell my righteous one it is well
I have set great plans for you
The words I have spoken of you
Many have heard
They will not come back to me empty
Believe it is well
You will see with your own eyes
You will receive the promise
It is well
