Each day that follows heartache
Is one step closer to healing the pain
The loss, the heartache, shall never leave the heart
The sadness, the anger, the pure grief
Is slowly, gradually... in unknown time
Buried in memories
Memories that help you step closer
Closer to rebuilding life
Life after this loss
Hear the wind blow
Hear the pain of others
See the sunrise at dawn
And see the sunset at dusk
Breathe the life in the air
Ignite the aroma of natures garden
Feel the warmth in people
Accept their open arms
A recovery of acceptance
Healing your pain
To Take
Just.... one Step at a time

just one step at a time is all you can take when grief overtakes your life. But with each new day thing do improve and the sun will shine again. You never really forget.
Ups and downs are there in everyman's life! But to conquer them or reduce their gravity, we can shift our focus from ourselves to others and onto the beauty of Nature or raise our hearts to God! Then we will be able to move forward step by step! Enjoyed! !
It does take time to recover from loss, but it is said that time is a great healer. This is true to some extent, but wounds always bear scars. A very philosophical write Lyn, a great read.
This here is a perfect description of enduring life's losses, and the pain felt. I loved your beautiful descriptions of natures gifts to us and how we must move on from our own pain. Great poem, Lyn.....thank you.
Hi Lyn, rather than waffle on using words all used before here is just one, " Magnificent"
Every verse projects and connects with a feeling. Very Good! !
excellent the healing of pain takes one step at a time. sometimes the steps seem long but with hope they will pass.
I know this feeling well, my wife died last year ansd slowly but slowly time will heal.
Just.... one Step at a time Loss and grief can be overcome by what you have asked us to do, and yes, with just...one step at a time. Very well said. Good comments from other poets too.

This succinctly and eloquently describes greif and loss and the gradual and painful path back to what can never again be truely normal, but we all must as we all experience such grief at some time as is the course of life. Well written with compassion and heart.
