I Wish So Dearly
I had wished so dearly to meet him
He did come, for sure,
but never stopped to meet me.
It was my desire to meet him eye to eye
He did sit beside me, for sure,
but his eyes were on something else.
I had wished to talk to him
He did offer me a smile
But spoke no word to me.
I had wished to go for a walk with him
He did walk a little distance with me
But never took my hands in his.
I had wished to disclose my love to him
He did come close to me, for sure,
But his silence quelled my words.
I wish I could make him mine
He remained so close to me
But, the distance between us
Is on the increase.

Hi Becca, Thank you for your wonderful words of appreciation of the poem. This is translation of the lovely poignant poem by Kavita Singh, who writes in Hindi. I will convey your good words to her. Thank you.
The unsaid and unshared love that remains only in the heart wishing it to be felt by the other where words arent required to convey...it is such a deep feeling....Love the way that depth is portrayed....Beautiful..This is infact inspiring me to write on this.....thanks..: -) A big 10+ for sure
Hi Ashika, Very true. We know quite well that love need no language to express it. The eyes speak volumes to the loved one. We all have gone through this experience. But unrequited lone inflicts a pain, a wound that time fails to erase... The above lines are just a few drops of tears, that do nothing to tend the wound..... Lovely poem by Kavita. Pl do read the original...Thank you Ashika.
Typo..please treat 'The translation made by you'...it is inadvertently done.
This is a beautiful poem on love and feeling so nicely executed. The translation made by is so impressive. I feel a fountain is flowing gentely. I cite...I had wished to talk to him He did offer me a smile But spoke no word to me. Thank you dear poet for sharing this here.
