Last Goodbye Poem by Sandra Feldman

Last Goodbye

Rating: 4.9

That last goodbye
How sad it was!
The one so hopeless,
Even sadness, cried
And something,
Quite intangible,
Left life,
And simply died.

He who's never loved
Would not, could not
Ever know
The cutting pain,
The total meltdown
Felt!
As Life's breath
Escaped
And seemed
Totally in vain,
While everything
Around us
Turned to stone
Unable to resist
This pain, unknown
And thereafter
The slightest Life
Sustain.

A separation feels like a small death sometimes. But it also resembles a small birth.Well written poem!

Very touching. It's always hard to say goodbye to loved ones, but sometimes it's a comfort if they have suffered much and now you know they are in a better place.

A deeply poignant and moving poem. Each line is so touching that strikes the core of.the heart and made me teary eyed. Yes, separation and loss always create void in our life. Sometimes it is death for us too for a certain time not knowing where to get our strength to move on. So beautifully written and conveyed. Onto my Poem List.

I sometimes imagine how my last moments of life might be. Thinking of the feelings of pain and void that my eternal departure might cause to my loved ones, and the burden of funeral services and formalities that might fall heavily on the shoulders of my 'next of kin', embarrass me. May everyone's last goodbye be pronounced with love, and reciprocated in love!
