বাবার ৭৪ বছর এখন
অবসরের সময়, সদা প্রার্থনা আর ঘরে অবস্থান
খুঁনসুটি আলাপন জীবন সঙ্গিনীর সাথে
যাঁর বয়সও ৬৪
জীবনের ভাটা, অন্তিমের সংযোগ মনে মনে

গতকাল চারদিকে শেষ কীর্তন; বাদ্য ভজন
ছিল বিজয়া দশমী হিন্দু ধর্মাবলম্বীদের
বিশাল আয়োজন প্রতিমা বিসর্জনের

না এ বয়সে বাবার শুধুই অবসর মন
অবসরের হাত, পা, দেহ
গুটিয়ে বসে আছেন সোফাতে
সন্ধ্যে প্রার্থনার পর দেখছিলেন টিভি
এ চ্যানেল থেকে ও চ্যানেলে চষে বেড়াচ্ছিলেন
মা কে ডেকে দেখাচ্ছিলেন প্রতিমা বিসর্জন
আর বলছিলেন এর কি কোনো অর্থ আছে
যাঁকে করলাম পূজা-আরাধনা তাঁকেই আবার বিসর্জন!

হঠাৎ মা বাবার আলোচনা স্তব্ধ, টিভির আওয়াজও বন্ধ ঠিক সন্ধ্যে ৬.৩০টায়
ভাতিজি এসে জানিয়ে দিল- "দাদা বলেছে পিকচার টিউব নষ্ট হয়ে গিয়েছে,
আমি রাতে আইপিএলের খেলা দেখতে পারবোনা! "

টিভি হীন মুহূর্তগুলো যেনো খুব বিরক্তিকর
পৃথিবীটাও যেন মরে গেছে
কোথাও কোলাহল নেই
সিরিয়ালের নাটকের সাথে সাথে যেন জীবনের নাটকও থেমে গেছে
চিয়ার্স গার্লদের উন্মাদনাও যেন কেড়ে নিল ঐ পিকচার টিউব

কবে থেকে এ রঙ্গিন ভার্চুয়াল জগত পরিবার আর জীবনের একান্ত সঙ্গী হল জানা নেই
তবে গতরাতের টিভি হীন মুহূর্তগুলো যে নিরস বন্দী জীবন ছিল তার কোন সন্দেহ নেই

Moments without TV it seems to be very annoying
The world seems to be dead
There is no noise anywhere
The drama of life seems to have stopped along with the dramas of the TV serial
The cheeriness of the cheers girls also seemed to take away that picture tube
