Lilting leaves that enthrall me,
Leaves that dance with the breeze,
Long ribs so strong and steady,
Lengthy arms that stretch so gracefully,
Like the swing and sway of the
Lyrical Mohiniattam dancers of Kerala,
Levering waves of the Arabian Sea,
Lightning sweep of a watchful eagle,
Lovely leaves and branches that I admire -
Lyrical music and dance of a coconut tree!

The long flattened leaves
That taper down like a feathered tail,
Trying to reach out to the distant horizon,
Trying to catch the attention of the folks down,
To waive at an innocent passer-by,
To salute the stunning nature or
To simply frolic with the wind!
The leaves play a windy musical tune,
To tickle your tender emotions,
To laugh and rejoice the lively moment!

So fascinating are the
Sincere leaves of Coconut trees,
So united in their venture, yet
Supple that can bend and adjust
Soothing movement that can be
Sensitive to the birds that fly,
Soaring high with their wings flapping,
Sweet music of the choir,
Sensational dance of the branches,
Singing together in harmony!

Beaming branches that remain united,
Beautiful like a feathered umbrella,
Breathing in with ease,
Breathing out in peace,
Bending down with humility,
Bound together, yet,
Bonded in companionship,
Branches that retain
Beauty with its amazing integrity,
Bewitching the world with its tranquillity!
