Limerick-86- A Whore Or A Wraith

Rating: 5.0

There lived a woman so alone
Nothing about her was known
She stole away from sight
People saw her as blight
At night she would sneak into a strange zone

Amazing write. Very profound piece. How the society views a woman determines the worth n status of a woman. This is so ironic. Some women are forced to live like ghosts. Their lives begin with darkness. This is the failure of human society. A great piece that speaks loud in just a few words.

Valsa. You are a tremendous surprise! ! You write poetry like the Climber and the Soliloquy of a Banyon Tree AND you write limericks... ummmmmm, WoW! Personally, I could not write a limerick if my life depended on it. You, HOWEVER, do not write a funny verse here- -you have boldly stepped forward and written a very provocative limerick that is a powerful piece of literature. Oh, I do hope to see more of this style of limerick. Maybe we could call it a Valsarick! A 10 +++++++++++++++++++++++++++ of course.

Susan, I am bowled over by your comment.... When I wrote it, I didn't mean much... I only wanted to say that a woman who deviates from the accepted norms is unfortunately held in the grid of suspicion....! You gifted readers have given it deeper dimensions.... Thank you so much for this highly uplifting comment!

Refreshing to read a Limerick on a serious subject. We rely too much on rumour and first impressions. A deep message in a beautifully constructed Limerick. Well done, Valsa.
