Limerick- In The Kingdom Of Fools Poem by Valsa George

Limerick- In The Kingdom Of Fools

Rating: 4.9

In the Kingdom of Fools, there was a poet
Who thought his poems were really great
Was a man of high pretence
But what he wrote made no sense.
You or I could be that poor idiot!

hey, valsa! this made me smile. no doubt that at least sometimes we think we are making perfect sense which only makes sense to us, or perhaps to a few. of course, however, does any poem speak to all? we hope that somewhere there will be a person or people who resonate with us and appreciate what we've written—as i do what you've written here. hoping you're well in all ways, glen

You are absolutely right, Glen! We cannot make sense to all...! We post poems thinking that they make sense at least to a few. But when we believe that our poems are appreciated by all, we land in a fool's paradise. Glad it brought a smile to you....!

This Limerick not only gives unlimited fun but also expresses wise humor you have perceived from poems and poets. A man of high pretence thought that he was great and admired himself in his many poems and declared that his poems were so great. A poet ruling through different pseudo-names motivated many towards him passing wrong information and thought that he was only clever and others were fool. He thought that others were poor and he was rich. (Part-1)

Kumaramani sir, I am extremely sorry, I didn’t mean anyone in particular. For fun I write limericks and if you feel that this limerick is levelled against anyone, it is only accidental....! The target could be anybody who thinks that his poems are great. I am also not excluded....! I always believe that we are all poets who need to grow more and more. We grow only by learning from one another and reading more poems. (part.1)

He went on writing many, many highly violent and irritation poems targeting few noble poets, talked very sweetly having poison in mouth and started pulling their legs. Polite poets could not know his bad intention. He did not stop spreading violence and wrote more such poems. Finally he was a fool. Poets observed him at last. This poem is brilliantly and excellently penned fun giving poem. (Part-4)

I guess I would fit well into what you have said in the last line, because I think myself as one akin to 'Who thought his poems were really great'! :) Enjoyed the humor, you are so good at it!
