Love’s Voice - Poem by Jeannie Anglin

We heard a sound
It was the voice of love
Come to awaken us from our slumber
To teach us to see with our hearts
And not just our eyes
To teach us to really listen
And not just hear
Love leads us through the door
To see the world that surrounds us
Loves eyes glow with understanding
Loves touch is forgiveness
Love is blind, yet it sees all
Love lends a deaf ear, yet it hears
The pain that is never put to words
Love also heals that pain
It can mend the broken heart
It gives hope and friendship and joy
Love can do so many wonderful things
And be extremely terrifying at the same time
But you can never give up on love
Because once you give up
That’s when you lose sight
Of what Love truly is…
