Mask - Poem by Tara Jones

There is a mask over my face to block out the world
to keep all that may cause harm away
I am scared to be hurt
I have been hurt in the past
It made me stronger
but not strong enough
To block out my emotions
from prying eyes
they think im strong but it is only a mask
I dont want them to see if they broke me
my emotions will stay hidden for a wile
till im brave enough to show them again
