That's not my brand of perfume on your collar,
That's not my shade of lipstick on your cheek.
You say you never have an extra dollar,
You're tearing through your paycheck every week.
I'd like to know where all the money's going,
It's certainly not going toward the bills.
If every single dime you just keep blowing,
We're going to have a battle of the wills.
I don't know why you bother coming back here,
Your heart and mind are clearly somewhere else.
Your children haven't seen you for a full year,
Because you put your family on a shelf.
I have to take a stand; this can't continue
For this is not what i would call a life.
I'm moving out tomorrow, with the kids, too
And you can find youreslf another wife.
Take that homewrecking woman for your wife.
Now suddenly your family means something?
Too late; you made your choice a year ago.
I'm taking off this meaningless wedding ring
And am I coming back? The answer's no.
My trust in you is at an all-time low.
Betrayal! ! This meaningless wedding ring! Hurt! Break up. Be strong in your life and move on. Thanks for sharing this poem with us.
Thanks so much for reading, Edward Kofi. Actually, this is one of my older poems, and it is totally imaginary or fiction. The whole scenario is a product of my very fertile imagination, one of the best gifts a writer can possess!

Rebecca, this one almost sounds like the lyrics to a country song! (they have a lot of songs about cheating and breaking up.) Thank you for appreciating a poem that was not one of my happy love poems!
When marriage comes to this point, sometimes divorce is the best answer. In my case it is the smartest thing I ever did. Very well written.
Thank you, Barry. :) Better to be alone and have peace, than to be with the wrong person, who is wrecking your life and making you miserable with their bad choices and disloyalty. Unlike cats, we only get one life, so we owe it to ourselves to insure that it is a good one, at least as much as it is up to us.

I would like to translate this poem
Nice and to the point.
Thank you, Ray! Your poem was to the point, also- - and you got your point across in far fewer words than I used! :)
