Movie Queen Poem by Practicing Poetess

Movie Queen

Rating: 5.0

Sweet Marlene
Was a Movie Queen
On the Silver Screen.
Other starlets, it seems
With envy were green
When she had a scene
(For she reigned supreme.)

They conspired at noon
To booby-trap her dressing room
In the month of June.
Their plans were thwarted, too soon
They were sent packing by the studio goon
And departed, their careers in ruin,
While the band played a mournful tune.
