My Wings Of Freedom Poem by Mary Nagy

My Wings Of Freedom

If ''The truth shall set you free''
then I have earned my wings.
I finally have faced my past...
even the dark and evil things.

I don't need your forgiveness
or your patronizing smile.
I know that I must do this...
I've known it for awhile.

A part of me was frozen
yet now began the thaw.
I'll show you I will make it...
just stand and watch in awe.

There's nothing I can't conquer
no hill that is too steep.
I'll prove I'm a survivor...
that's a promise I will keep.

If ''The truth shall set you free''
then I have earned my wings.
I finally have faced my past...
even the dark and evil things.

A lovely and positive poetic affirmation! I wish you the best in your ongoing growth towards the light, for ultimately that is all that is. All the darkness we perceive are just frequencies of light we can't perceive yet. (Physics! and Metaphysics!) Warmest regards, Hugh

The past 30+ years I've been through alot of turmoil. But like you say the truth shall set you free. I may need some forgiveness, but mainly understanding.

This poem is like Going to the drawer thinking that you may not find what you are looking for and finding all you needed and laid on a silver plate.Love Duncan

I loved this poem! Nothing was left out. You proved that you can make it through anything, no matter how long it takes. I think sometimes holding things in hurts worse than actually facing them. I think this poem will inspire people to rise above all the things that they have been through, with their head held high. Great poem. Crystal

hey, this poem says it all. I have learned that holding things in will only hurt more in the long run. I am so glad you can finally accept the way life was, and not let it drag you down. I liked the poem
