No Better... Poem by Kesav Venkat Easwaran

No Better...

He walks along close to me all the time
At times goes ahead, falls behind sometimes,
Talking all the while laughing aloud often
Bitter accusing words many times

What others around watching us would think?
Pretend I want not to listen, ignore
That provokes him to talk harshly more
Prompts him to go louder each time

Hindrance his voice to my onward slumber
The one silent in the light is a friend better!
This booing shadow of my mind's inner,
This conscience I bear is no better

Very interesting Kesav. I think sometimes we would, really like to see our conscience as someone else and some look at themselves that way anyways. Thankyou for sharing

Yeah but one must cross the barrier of conscience because conscience is made by thoughts imbibed from society...... Then you will find true guidance- a guidance of your soul. Yes for that one must be sincere should be bereft of preferences, impulses.......... The processes is painful but every one must do it in this life or life hereafter. This is the only way.... Also know as walking on razor sharp path............ And heaven of endless bliss wait at other side.......... Good Write.........

Nice piece, u'r conversant with wordplay...a nice style. We can't do away with our conscience, we are one.It defines our fate.
