Politicians
A government in denial,
opposition in disarray.
Such are the political clowns,
that's running around loose to-day.
Opportunist sans borders,
and each other they will betray.
All having their own agenda,
that drives them to join the fray.
Whichever way the wind may blow,
there will be hardship to endure.
They'll spin and tie themselves in knots,
for governing, they have no clue.
This comedy will continue
and there's not much that we can do.
Except to sit back and enjoy,
the moronic crap that they spew.
How rare it is to have a transparent and accountable governance. All the promises in the world account for nothing time and time again. Important issues such as our environment are doomed yet that is the only thing that really does matter. Awesome poem Loke.
At first, I thought you must be describing this mess we have going on in America right now! ! ! But, sadly, it is a situation in every country that has a government. Exactly. Even a dictatorship. I know of no cure for this disease- just keep trying to vote in a better quality of a politician.... now that would be an oxymoron ;)

no wonder this sounded familiar! i put it into last month's (August's) showcase. it must not have been in your list at the time. so NOW i'm tasked with leaving a comment! besides it being an easy-to-follow poem, which i greatly appreciate, and having acceptable English-usage, i liked what rhymes i spied. basically i have this to say about politicians: better THEM than ME running governments. i WOULD make ice cream the National Food and have it served at each meal in the White House, BUT as for foreign affairs, domestic affairs, and extra-marital affairs, i'd be at a loss for how to handle them. i guess anti-politician poems will always find admirers. bri :) :)

To win majority, the politicians are ready to align with those of opposing ideologies and change stances as the situation demands without any qualms of conscience! These opportunists are interested only in protecting their vested interests and feathering their own nests! The foolish commoners are fated to stand and watch their gimmicks! ......A great dig at the modern politicians! !
and there's not much that we can do. Except to sit back and enjoy, Through out the world helpless people are doing it. A nice poem that fits to whole of the world.

In a small way it is nice to see that America isn't the only country full of idiot politicians. But knowing that it is the rule and not the exception, gives me little hope for the world
