Search Me, Try Me Poem by Susan Williams

Search Me, Try Me

Rating: 4.8

.
Oh my soul, I beg thee search me
Dark surrounds me, search me, try me
I am on my knees, oh my soul
I beg thee, repair my story
.
Oh my soul, I damaged my song
It was my choice, I did life wrong
Once I sang in adoration
But now I no longer belong
.
Oh my soul, mend thou my glory
Take away my dark outlawry
Fill me up with light and meaning
Make of me an allegory
.
Oh my soul, I beg thee search me
Dark surrounds me, search me, try me
I am on my knees, oh my soul
I beg thee, repair my story
.

A heart-wrenching poem about repentance and a plea for redemption. Susan, I sincerely believe that you have nothing to worry about. However, for peace of mind, please read EMMANUEL'S BOOK. The 3 books are truly amazing! And such a great comfort in these sorrowful times!

Richard, I am so proud to count you as a friend not only to poetry but also to me. You have lifted my spirits many a time. I hope I have encouraged you on your journey as well. Sometimes I swear we carve these poems out of our living, suffering hearts and souls. I will find this Emmanuel's Book and read the 3 volumes probably when I finish editing my book series.

Robert, Thank you for seeing the dark night of the soul and not chastising me for having one. Some feel Christians cannot feel these. Robert, You are welcome and you earned each of my comments.
