POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
A guy was telling me the other day that his mother-in-law loves hummingbirds, and that she likes to stand as still as a statue near the feeder with a net. When the hummingbirds come to feed, she catches them with the net so that she can take close-up pictures as she holds them in her hand. I think this is cruel and traumatizing to the poor hummingbirds. Why doesn't she just get a motion-activated camera and place it near the feeder instead? That's exactly what I am going to do. I already have some trail cameras. One of these days I will set one up near the feeder and get some pictures of the hummingbirds without having to grab them!

You are a great photographer. Bharati, thank you, but I didn't take that picture. I just found it on the Internet.

Kim, Interesting story! I guess her husband enjoys the peace and quiet while she plays statue. Great picture! !

I agree that it would be better to set up a tail camera instead of what that lady does! Love the haiku!
