Siddhartha And Gautama Buddha Poem by Parameswaran Nair Damodaran Nair

Siddhartha And Gautama Buddha

Rating: 5.0

It was the Crown prince of Shakya Dynasty
Who deserted his palace in Kapilavastu
Seeking the light of truth to tide over
The darkness of pain and sufferings.
Renouncing royal luxuries and powers
And overcoming the emotional attachment
To life companion Yesodhara and son Rahul
Siddhartha shook off the shackles on him.
In the silent farewell without parting words
While everyone in the palace was asleep
The prince stood by the feet of his wife
To have a last glance of her innocent face
Nobody watched him straining in agony
Nor noticed his conscience apologising
No one saw his eyes flooding with tears
Discreetly he came out and rode off.
