Someone Once Told Me Poem by Dave Alan Walker

Someone Once Told Me

Rating: 4.0

Someone once told me
What an uncle did to
his nephew

Someone once told me
What the uncles brother
did to a young girl

Someone once told me
That their mother and sister
didn't care, because
they let them near the young
and the frail

Someone once told me
The guilty always get away

Someone once told me
They'll never pay

Now I'm telling someone
It's time to pay
Because justice is coming
and it's here to stay

This poem is a very touching yet sensitive subject. Still you excellently laid out the lines to create a forceful impact tot he reader and the last few lines resolved the injustice. Truth says there will always be a reckoning.

This is a really depressing read, great but depressing, it always seems that their are stories about these things happening and they never end. Ultimately I do think some good happens. The closing is a great affirmation of hope. Keep faith

I love how the sensitivity of the poem was focused on and yet, still it sounded innocent. A well-delivered piece, if I say so myself.
