Summer Revised - Poem by lesley herrera

Bright hot sun

Suffocating rays

Sweating brow

Rolls down

Parched mouth

Dry as desert

Weak and sick

Yearning for rain

Dreaming rain

Sweet drops

Giving life

Hope of life

Beautiful tulips

Droop in heat

Only floods

Of rain

Breathe life

To the soft

Pink petals

Beauty from rain

Death from heat

Of summer
