Survival bracelets
Are not. What makes you think they
Could keep you alive?

Eight feet of colored
Paracord and one buckle
Will not save your life.

They are quite pretty.
Honestly, that's why they sell,
But they won't save you.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I have made hundreds of bracelets out of colored parachute cord (and given most of them away) , but I don't call them survival bracelets; I just call them paracord bracelets. I have never heard of anyone who said 'My survival bracelet saved my life.'Here in Recife I have not been able to find paracord, but I have found a plastic cord (100% polypropylene) that is almost the same size. The smaller bracelets are made of a smaller size cord, and some of the colorful bracelets in the picture are made out of shoelaces! written 16 February 2015Recife, Brazil

This is fascinating. So the bracelets in this picture are not made of paracord, but out of polypropylene? They are very pretty!
