Waited so long for this
Tentative, Love's First Kiss
I've rehearsed it in my mind
Played it through 1,000 times
Don't want to rush the enjoyment
Want to savour every moment
Slow-motion, feeling everything
I feel my heart take wing
Are you feeling what I feel?
Is this just a dream, or real?
Soft lips gently touching mine
Lost in love, and lost in time.
Exploring, tasting, seeking, finding,
Receiving, yielding, and unwinding
Please don't let this moment end
Can we do it all again?
Oh what a wonderful poem you've written! I think men and women alike will hear the resonance in their hearts. Loved the 'Poet's Notes' too.
Thank you for reading and commenting, Khairul. Anyone who's ever truly been mutually in love, will most likely be able to relate to this poem. Especially if they'd waited awhile, and there was deep love and commitment there. But if you kiss every Tom, Dick, and Harry that comes along, it means nothing.
Thanks, Lamar! Funny thing that this one is a bit heady for me, yet I'm the one who wrote it! Compared to some of what I've seen on this site, though, my poems are pretty tame. I choose to keep them that way! :)
Your first kiss is very special and the memory lingers on. Good use of a question: ' Are you feeling what I feel? ' I'm sure the answer is 'Yes'.
Michael, your last sentence made me blush, but of course you can't see that, because this is internet! I often forget that men are going to read these poems, too! Thank you for the sweet comment. My central air conditioning just malfunctioned, and they just installed a window unit to hold me over until they can figure out what's wrong with the central air. I'm reading comments while I wait for the air to kick in, and trying to get a feel for how the window unit is working. I live on the 3rd floor, and heat rises!
Rich flow of thought embellished in poetic rhyme and rhythm. Lovely and very passionate poem. It touched my heart. Thanks for sharing and welcome to Poemhunter.
Thank you for the warm welcome, Chinedu. Also, thank you for your sensitive heart! I'm happy to be on this site!

Can we do it all again, I've have read this more than once. Th.x you for writing.
Thank you, Thomas, for reading and commenting, so early in the morning! What a thing to wake up to! Ha-ha! : -)
