This will never work, you see
Two persons as different as we can be
You cannot give me what I need, for me
But that doesn't stop me from loving you.

All the conditions and timing are wrong
Impossible situation, sad song
And yet, we cannot stay apart for long
Then we're back to loving each other, we two.

I cherish the memory of when we first met
I never expected what I would get.
Since then we've known happiness, even regret,
But that doesn't stop me from loving you.

You told me that you weren't perfect, it's true
Though when I first met you, I hadn't a clue
And now, there are things I wish I never knew,
But that doesn't stop me from loving you.

We know that someday, it will probably end,
That's why we keep saying that we're only friends
We're such a mismatch, that nobody wins,
But that doesn't stop me from loving you.

We can't seem to finish whatever we start
Yet, you hold a special place deep in my heart
And Life does its best to keep us apart,
