The colour white swimming in a sea of snow,
It's shimmering, luminous substance,
As the Siberian winds make it flurry and dance,
Through the tranquil beauty of County Carlow,
The storm of life roars in to disrupt our routine and flow,
We stop to dream a new dream,
Living is now slow,
As we watch Storm Emma blow
Across Ireland, across our past,
Across memories that will always last,
Like a local playground bathing in the afternoon golden light,
I remember your luminous looks like the colour white so bright,
Your brown eyes shining with zest, intelligence and your ability to fight,
For a good life,
For love and romance and to become Eric's wife,
But I see a little girl holding my hand,
A teenager listening to your favourite band,
Now you're a grown up lady,
But i still see my girl running gracefully along the sand,
You make your dreams real,
With your doe eyed appeal
As the colour white dazzles around,
Your beauty and kindness is your seal
Pure endures with the echoes of Caylin's violin a beautiful sound.
I love the way Ireland is always a main character, a main force, in your poetry, grounding and defining the elements of the piece. This made me look back on my life as well - The storm of life roars in to disrupt our routine and flow, We stop to dream a new dream, Love it. 10

Beautiful words on the love and strength of your family. I too have daughters and to see them beautiful and caring makes me proud. Enjoy ever moment.
Relating to a daughter this poem has been astutely and startlingly inscribed through white colour having an interesting beginning. Insightful depiction. I quote....... A teenager listening to your favourite band, Now you're a grown up lady, But i still see my girl running gracefully along the sand, You make your dreams real, Great work. Thanks.
An excellent poem written with thoughts hovering around family. I love my family too and so your poem does have a special appeal on me. 'Your beauty and kindness is your seal' - Brilliant!
Beautiful Poem Hazel. I could see your love for your daughter whom you mention as Eric's wife and for your grand daughter Caylin. Family is something which bind all.
