The Morning Was So Beautiful, Then...

The morning was so beautiful
The sun had just emerged
Its warm gentle rays stretched down to kiss my skin
My spirits rose
The huge burden of worry that had consumed me started to dissolve
Things no longer seemed so gloomy
There was a lightness in my step
As I started to take my morning walk
The birds were chirping
The breeze was rustling through the leaves of the line of trees
If only the sun would stay
Never leave
Maybe that would be enough for me to get well again
I felt free for the first time in days
Gone were the dark confines of my mind
Pure joy was embracing all my thoughts
My body was consumed with happiness
Could this last?
Was it too much to ask…

The sun started to disappear
It sneaked behind a cloud
Its rays no longer caressed me
A darkness emerged
I felt a shiver ripple through my body
Everything started to turn cold
Fear clutched at my heart
My spirits sank
My thoughts turned to despair
Things weren’t going to get better after all
Oh Sun with all your light, Why did you have to go and leave?
