The Pelican And The Last Cigarette Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

The Pelican And The Last Cigarette

Rating: 5.0

The pelican slips a fish down its throat
Then, flies away
As the storm clouds rolls in,
I took a drag of my last cigarette
And threw it into the sea
Watching it float down to the ocean floor
I knew not to dump it there
But, today, I don't care
And I don't feel guilty

A feeling I have never felt. Explains well your feelings. Relieved there was no cigarette.
